Story
Get to Know Us
Torn From Time was established in 2023 by AK Ruddock in loving memory of Martin Ruddock MD. Dr. Ruddock practiced as an OBGYN for 40 years, helping women throughout the US while also pursuing his lifetime love of collecting. Our goal is to spread the treasures of the past to the hands of the present through sales, design, and creation. History should be accessible to the masses, now more than ever. Dr. Ruddock loved to teach and did so whenever possible; it is our mission to continue this education however we can.
About the Owner & Operator...
This site is run by AK Ruddock, the head archivist of maps & resident artist. She comes from Northeastern Ohio, born and raised. She spent significant time in Chicago (SAIC 2013-17), Amsterdam (AHK 2018-20), and New York (with a brief foray out west). She currently lives and makes things in Brooklyn. Her works range through many mediums, but mainly consist of drawings, prints, occasional paintings, and sometimes objects.
